Shelby County Operations

Panola College has two locations in Center, Texas, offering academic courses and vocational courses, workforce and continuing education courses, personal enrichment and adult education classes. For specific information about programs at each location, please see below.

The main administrative offices are located at the Shelby Regional Training Center.

Shelby College Center(SCC)

Shelby College Center offers face-to-face courses and Interactive Television courses transmitted from the main campus in Carthage.

Program areas include, but are not limited to:

• Cosmetology
• Licensed Vocational Nursing
• Adult and Continuing Education 
• All Courses

Shelby College Center office hours are:

• 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Monday - Thursday
• 7:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Friday

Shelby Regional Training Center (SRTC)

The SRTC program is designed to prepare students for a career in troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining equipment in an industrial environment. Students who successfully completing the program will obtain a strong background in welding, hydraulics, refrigeration, and related subjects.

Programs include

• Associate of Applied Science in Petroleum Technology (or certificates)
• Associate of Applied Science in Industrial Technology (or certificates)
• Welding
• Agriculture
• Refrigeration & HVAC
• Electrical & More

Program skills includes:

• Laboratory training using state-of-the-art instruments, materials, and techniques employed in the industry

• Appropriate safety training

• Problem-solving skills, including statistical analysis of data and effective teamwork

• Effective oral and written communication skills
